Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
– Philippians 3:13
For most of us it would be more correct to say “these seven things I so”, but Paul did not say that. He was a singel minded guy who knew what he was living for, and I do believe that this was one of the secrets to his success. His mind was not occupied with all kinds of worldly things, but he had devoted his life to the mission God had given him.
For us today this can be a big challenge, because we have so many options. There are so many alternatives and we are constantly being bombarded with things screaming for our attention. This is why it is so important, in todays world, to daily take time to calibrate your life and focus. God has great things ahead for you so don’t let your mind be filled with so many other things that slowly lose focus. We need to stay sharp and clear when it comes to why we are here on this earth.
Often there can be many things we do that are good things, but they are not what we should be doing. Everyone can not do everything, but when everyone starts to focus on THEIR mission, then everything will get done ...and it will get done even better.
